My day job is a Product Marketing Director and Product Manager at Synopsys (formerly Optical Research Associates) for our illumination design software. I have spent thirty years in the design and manufacturing of optical systems and design software, from lasers to optical metrology to production line inspection systems to general lighting.

I grew up in Manlius NY, outside of Syracuse and attended the University of Rochester receiving degrees in Physics, Mathematics and a Masters in Optics. I moved to the Boston area in 1987 and to Newton in 1994 with my wife Barbara.

I try to be active in my communities, encouraging and organizing STEM outreach  with work colleagues,  holding leadership positions in two international, OSA and SPIE, and one local, NES/OSA, professional societies, and community engagement activities through the Highlands Area Council, Newton Community Pride and Newton Tree Conservancy.

In my free time I root for the New England Revolution and perform optics demonstrations to students sharing my passion for science or other STEM fields.
